The narrative jumps forward to another interview between Leeds and UndercoverInc. Leeds stops the interview to check on Layla, who has been thrashing around, trying to break free of the rope tying her to the bed. She is scared and angry, and she no longer trusts Leeds. He begs her to remain calm and says he doesn’t want her to hurt herself. He tells her the man he is talking to might be able to help her. She is confused because she is not yet aware that her spirit is not in the right body.
Leeds returns to the interview, and UndercoverInc pours him some bourbon. Leeds resumes his story, saying that he and Layla were inseparable after spending three more days at the bed-and-breakfast. She came back to Tennessee with him, and they lived together happily for two months. Leeds says that everything was great until his ex-girlfriend, Sable, came back into his life.
Layla has come back to Franklin, Tennessee, with Leeds, and they have spent the last two months having sex, learning about each other’s lives, and talking about Leeds’s music career. He still hasn’t left his band, but, with Layla’s support and encouragement, he is becoming more confident about writing and playing original music.
